All the results and reports from another weekend of hockey

Ladies 1s
The Ladies 1s came out fighting and despite conceding early in the first quarter, bounced straight back into action and Kerri found an equaliser and Em took another from a well put together short corner routine which strung numerous passes around the defense to put them into a 2-1 lead. A goal-filled first quarter didn’t stop there and Bedford found another 2 goals to put it at 3-2 to the visitors at the quarter time break. Millie managed to get a green card for body checking an opposition player, something she had practiced in training that week against Lauren!
Despite some excellent play by the Broxbourne team, Bedford continued to find the back of the goal throughout the next 3 quarters including from 2 P-flicks and the game finished 8-2 to the visitors.

Ladies 2s
The L2s game started off quickly with the visitors going 1-0 and Broxbourne finding the equaliser from a beautiful Lauren scoop to Vic on the post, all within the first 5 minutes of the game! Broxbourne won a couple of short corners and managed to convert to a 2-1 lead against the league leaders with a strike from Charlie. Stevenage managed to find the equaliser just before half time. The second half saw less goals but did see more people slipping over. The sun even came out for a bit, which the spectators enjoyed, however was a bit much for Sarah who got a bit hot and took a sit down on the side. When she finally came back on to the pitch the concept of playing on the left was also too much so she decided to kick the ball for a corner. Stevenage managed to find the winning goal from a short corner strike that may have been slightly helped into the goal from a Broxbourne post players foot. Final score 3-2 loss. Game analysis was ‘a draw would have been nice!’.

Ladies 3s got a 1-1 draw away against Letchworth. Read the full match report here.

Ladies 4s continue their winning streak by adding 8 more goals to their total winning 8-2 against St Albans away. Read the full match report here.

Ladies 5s started the day off at the Badger Field with a draw in their friendly game against Bishops Stortford at home. 1-1 at half time and finished 2-2 in a very close and well fought game. Lots of excellent play from some of the junior players as well as 2 goals from Dani up front and some strong defending from Lorraine in defense. Ella took player of the match for great play making in the center of the pitch.
