Many club members past and present will remember lovely Annie Strachan. Sadly she lost her bravely fought battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on Monday 30th June 2025.

Annie was a seasoned traveller visiting many parts of the world but was never happier than when visiting Norfolk. On the Friday before she passed, she had a perfect day, paddled in the sea and watched the sun set at her favourite beach Brancaster in Norfolk.

Annie played hockey for Welwyn Garden City but then spent many years at Broxbourne where she loved encouraging and helping younger players. Latterly, she enjoyed spectating and socialising at the club.

She was loyal and devoted to her many friends and her quirky and unique character will be sorely missed. She leaves behind wonderful happy memories in the hearts of the many people who loved her. Let's hope Annie is now ‘Dancing In The Street’ with her favourite David Bowie.
