The Badgers had a long trek to reach Peterborough for their first away match in East Prem. It was the badgers that made the stronger start, surprising Peterborough with their attacking play. Unfortunately despite maintaining large amounts of possession the Badgers were unable to capitalise by making the most of any chances. However late on in the first half a series of attacking short corners saw the visitors take the lead. Lucy Hoskin performed a text book drag out to Gemma Wilkinson who passed the ball perfectly into Em Wilkins, she struck the ball back to Hoskin who was able to deflect the ball into the back of the net.
This seemed to awaken Peterborough and they replied within minutes with a quick break away goal down the other end.
The second half saw Broxbourne again struggling to make the most of large amounts of pressure and Peterborough were able to score twice more in quick succession to secure a 3-1 win.
The Badgers can not be disheartened by the result as there were periods of brilliance but they will be made to work hard at training this week with coach Matt McDonnell already planning what can be improved.
