Under-fire manager Mark Pannell came away from Saturday's match against Winchmore Hill & Enfield 2s with a smile on his face and 3 points on the board. Pannell introduced the team to a new style of pre-match talk, inspired by Sesame Street's approach to literacy, he left his players assured that the focus of the game was possession, passion and percentages. Unfortunately punctuality was missing as Andy Law, a starting player on any teamsheet, was still in the toilet as the match commenced.

Law's presence was not missed however as the flowing play and passion helped Broxbourne camp in the opposition's half and quickly won a short corner. Straight strike was the call, and Tom Evans doubled his season tally with a calm strike hitting the top of the back board. Law returned to the pitch to drive the play to the opposition D, finding Scott Weedon who duped the keeper into believing his reverse stick was ferocious, the ball in fact dribbling along the ground and under the keeper's foot. The third goal came early in the first half with Evans stepping up to repeat his straight strike from a short corner, this time the first runner getting a large touch to loop the ball over the keeper's head.
Broxbourne were now confidently attacking, however the opposition defence fought hard to keep the ball away from goal. The consistent pressure however allowed opportunities, the next coming from left-back Alex Satwick to force the ball in from short distance after the ball pinged around the D. Alex O'Sullivan then scored from an acute angle with a confident sweep into the near post knowingly out of the range of the goalkeeper.
5 goals up coming into half-time, Winchmore Hill and Enfield got the goal difference down to 4 before the break, with a rare breakaway being capitilised on with a fierce strike from the centre-forward.

Panners continued the emphasis on the 3Ps at half time, and the time were targeted to keep the gaols against to 1, and to build on the goals scored. Attack after attack on the oppositon, Broxbourne took their time to add to their goal tally until Weedon again displayed his reverse stick skills learnt from Danny Copues adding his second goal before Dan Henry wrapped up the result of 7-1 to get the season back on track.

Broxbourne welcome Royston 2s to Mill Lane next Saturday
