Broxbourne Mens 2’s came up against bottom of the league St Albans 4’s in a must win game with an intriguing bare 11. The game started in a slow fashion with both sides having opportunities the Broxbourne defence had to dig in deep to prevent St Albans taking the lead but thanks to their handsome yet humble goalkeeper/captain/saviour who pulled off a number of astonishing saves, they went in at half time with a score of 0-0.
This score line gave our long haired midfield Dynamo the right hump so young Daniel scored a hat trick of well worked goals putting the 2’s in a comfortable 3-0 lead restoring a smile to Alex Satwicks normally miserable face.
The fourth and final goal was scored by Bobby Dyer a last minute call up from the 4’s who took his chance at a short corner with a slow and looping drag flick down the middle which bamboozled the opposition’s goalkeeper.
The final score was 4-0 which meant a vital 3 points and a second clean sheet of the season.
And now a final word from Co Captain Alex Brown “I’ve always been a big fan of Dan Ball and his work on the pitch and today he finally proved me right with a man of the match performance so well done Dan, Lots of Love from uncle Brown”
