Month 1 of the Badger journey to promotion

Match 1 - Home vs Tring 1: 5-1 win
The first match of the season was never going to be easy after an interesting/non-existent pre-season (for some...) and a big change in the team, however we were not going to be put off making an instant impact on the league we plan on winning this season (big talk!). Any doubts about our intensions were swiftly blown away with some impressive passing and clinical finishing, scoring 5 goals!! Great start to the season for Brox 2s.

Match 2 - Home vs Bedford 4: 4-1 win
Following a strong performance in week one, the team were more than up for the challenge of Bedford ladies. Always a strong opposition, we were not daunted by the task or intimidated by the most complicated warm up ever seen from Bedford. Having worked on short corners during training, two of these were converted into goals and the others came from Vic opening up on the Bedford defence with her pace and our forwards slotting the ball past the Bedford keeper.

Match 3 - Away vs Potters Bar 1: 2-1 loss
Our first away match of the season and missing a number of key players due to their heavy social calendar. Potters Bar was never going to be easy... and it wasn't. We finished 2nd in the match. Nothing else to say, except a lovely goal from Lauren.

Match 4 - Home vs St Albans 4: 2-0 win
A return to our home pitch and a desire to get back to our winning ways, we promised ourselves three things.... to keep our shape, no crash balls (Sam's pet hate) and Charlie to score a hat-trick. We played some gritty hockey to ensure we came away with all three points. Our on pitch captain Charlie decided to play upfront instead of at the back, scoring both goals but earning herself donkey for not scoring the hat-trick she promised. Special mention to Sarah & Phoenix for putting their kit back on and finding their sticks to make an appearance for us!
