Following the Ladies success last week, a confidence filled the air at the start of the match this week.
Broxbourne displayed some great transfers across the pitch early on, particularly the backs, to change the drive towards the goal.
An early scrappy goal for the visitors unsettled Broxbourne which led to a tense first half with a lot of chasing and defending. The work rate was high from both teams and in the unexpected heatwave that occurred during the game, Broxbourne made it a lot harder on themselves.
Luckily, an equaliser was found by Fixy not too long after to bring the score even. Once again great movement from Broxbourne and positive attacking troubled Berkhamsted, with a number of short corners going our way. Unfortunately, these opportunities didn’t bring about a goal. On a turnover by Berkhamsted it was their turn for another untidy goal, but nevertheless a goal which took them 2-1 up.
A team talk at half time, with reflection and discussion, brought out a united Broxbourne team. Together they were able to hold off any attacks from the opposition successfully, the only downside being that Brox couldn’t find the second equaliser.
The final score 2-1 to Berkhamsted.
Notable mention to Emma for solid goalkeeping to keep the second half equal.
