Ladies 3s battle hard against Stevenage

Ladies 3s hosted Stevenage 3s this weekend. Broxbourne conceded an early goal, but it wasn’t long before Cerys Edwards put one away to carry us to 1-1 at half time. Some excellent transfers and good communication led to a fantastic second goal in the second half, again from Cerys Edwards. Stevenage fought back to 2-2 and a lucky deflection put them 3-2 ahead. 2 short corners to Broxbourne in the final 5 minutes led to a tense finish, with Katie Smits hitting the post and Hannah Baker diving accross a water soaked pitch to try and get the equaliser. Unfortunately, time was up and the game finished 3-2 to Stevenage. A very close game with many positives to take away. Man of the Match was Cerys Edwards for her super “champagne moment” short corner goal!
